Road Trip Stop #2: Chatsworth, CA
One of the game's hardest-nose players and popular with everybody, Yeager was a mainstay on the Dodgers teams of the late 1970s and early 1980s. He shared the 1981 World Series MVP award with Pedro Guerrero and Ron Cey, belting two home runs. Yeager was especially outstanding defensively, leading N.L. catchers in caught stealing in 1978 (47%) and 1982 (43%). He finished his career with the Seattle Mariners in 1986, then consulted on the Major League movies. He still lives in the L.A. area and serves as a mentor and catching instructor for the Dodgers.
